Beschreibung

D-Tryptophan is a naturally occurring amino acid that is used as a sweetener and in the biosynthesis of proteins. It has neuroprotective properties and can be used to treat HIV infection. D-Tryptophan is also used as a synthetic glucocorticoid, which can be used to control inflammation. The maximal response of this drug was observed at 5 micrograms per milliliter, with an EC50 of 2.3 micrograms per milliliter. The concentration-response curve for this drug follows a sigmoidal shape, suggesting that the drug may have two different mechanisms of action: one at low concentrations and one at high concentrations.
