Beschreibung

6-Chloro-8-aminoquinoline is a benzoyl peroxide derivative that exhibits potent fungicidal activity against Aspergillus and Myrothecium. 6-Chloro-8-aminoquinoline can be hydrolyzed to 8-nitroquinoline, which has been shown to have fungitoxic effects in vitro. The mechanism of action of 6-chloro-8-aminoquinoline is unclear, but it may involve halogenation or nitrobenzene formation. The yield for this reaction is low, so the intermediate and final products are not easily isolated. This product also undergoes a transition from the nitro to the amino group when heated or in the presence of acid.
