Beschreibung

6-Chloromethylmorphanthridine is a synthetic, trifluoromethanesulfonic acid (TfOH) salt of an organic compound. It is an orally bioavailable molecule that has been shown to be effective against bacterial and fungal infections in mice. 6-Chloromethylmorphanthridine was synthesized using the technique of stereoselective synthesis, which is based on the use of chiral auxiliaries and reagents. This molecule has been used as a reference standard for spectrometric techniques such as gas chromatography and mass spectrometry. The mechanism of action of 6-chloromethylmorphanthridine against bacteria is not yet well understood but may include inhibition of tyrosinase activity, which would inhibit the production of melanin and other pigments in skin cells.
