1,1-Cyclohexanediacetic acid is a malonic acid that has shown to be an effective solid catalyst for the analytical method of 1,1-cyclohexanediacetic acid. The matrix effect is a phenomenon where the concentration of reactants in a solution can affect the rate of reaction and yield. Acylations are reactions that occur between an organic acid and an organic base. 1,1-Cyclohexanediacetic acid is used as a reagent in acylation reactions because it reacts with amides which are formed by condensation reactions. Gabapentin is a drug that binds to the α2δ subunit of voltage-gated calcium channels and inhibits their activity. It has been shown to have receptor activity on gabapentin receptors in the brain, spinal cord, and peripheral tissues.
