Beschreibung

1-Cyclohexylnaphthalene is a reactive organic solvent with a boiling point of 141°C. It is used in the fabrication of lithographic plates, as well as in the synthesis of dyes and other organic compounds. 1-Cyclohexylnaphthalene can be sublimed under vacuum at temperatures below -20°C to remove residual solvents. The oxidation products of 1-cyclohexylnaphthalene are mainly cyclohexanone, cyclohexanol, and cyclohexanone oxime. These products are also used as feedstocks in the production of synthetic compounds.
1-Cyclohexylnaphthalene has been shown to have a liquid crystal composition that displays interesting properties for patterning applications, such as its ability to form thin films and self-assemble into crystalline structures. This molecule can also be used for natural gas extraction due to its reactivity with methane.
