Beschreibung

Cytochalasin E is a natural compound that inhibits the movement of cytoplasmic calcium by binding to the cytosolic protein calmodulin. It has been shown to inhibit the growth of malignant cells in culture, and is also effective in treating inflammatory diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis and psoriasis. Cytochalasin E inhibits cellular energy metabolism by inhibiting ATPase activity, leading to a decrease in cell proliferation. This drug is also used as a model system for studying transport processes by inhibiting or enhancing the transport of drugs from outside the cell into the cell.
