Beschreibung:
5-Cyanothiophene-2-boronic acid is an ionotropic compound that acts as a hydrogen bond acceptor. It has been shown to inhibit the activity of glutamate receptors and in vitro has been shown to inhibit the activity of the NMDA receptor subtype. 5-Cyanothiophene-2-boronic acid binds to purine derivatives such as adenosine, which are ligands for hydrogen bond acceptors. Its molecular modeling studies show that this compound has a hydrogen bond with its neighboring molecule, which is necessary for it to act as an ionotropic inhibitor.
