Magnetic resonance spectroscopy has shown that CETOI can be used as a probe to study amide groups by its ability to form hydrogen bonds with amide groups. This chemical can also be used in regenerative medicine and cyclic peptides. Azobenzene monomers have been shown to inhibit viral replication, including influenza virus, through the formation of covalent bonds with phosphate groups on dsDNA.
