• Beschreibung: 4-Chloro Kynurenine is an aminotransferase activator that has been shown to produce antidepressant responses in animals. It is also a prodrug of rapamycin, which acts as an immunosuppressant and prevents the uptake of glutamate. 4-Chloro Kynurenine is used for the treatment of treatment-resistant depression. It inhibits glycogen synthase kinase-3 (GSK-3) and enhances the uptake of glutamate by organic anion transporters (OATs). This inhibition increases neurotrophic factors such as brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) and nerve growth factor (NGF). These findings suggest that 4-chloro kynurenine may be a novel drug for the treatment of depression.
