Beschreibung

2-Chloro-4-cyanopyridine is an efficient method for synthesizing propiolic acid. It inhibits the production of tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF-α) by lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-stimulated macrophages, and it also inhibits the activity of LPS-induced cyclooxygenase. The synthesis of 2-chloro-4-cyanopyridine can be achieved using a nucleophilic substitution reaction with an amination reaction. The synthesis can be carried out in hydrochloric acid or methanol as a solvent, and the functional groups are chlorides and nitro groups. This compound is used clinically to treat patients with septic shock by inhibiting the production of TNF-α and prostaglandins.
