• Beschreibung: Cholesteryl pelargonate is a microcapsule with a phase transition temperature of about 37°C. The capsule consists of two lipid bilayers, with the hydroxyl group in the polar head and the fatty acid chains in the non-polar tail. It has been shown that cholesteryl erucate can be incorporated into these capsules, which are then able to dissolve at 37°C. This dissolution takes place through a process called "liquid crystal", where some molecules in the capsule become aligned with each other and form an ordered structure. The capsules have high values for both cholesterol and erucic acid, which are important constituents of human serum. Cholesteryl pelargonate is also used as a carrier for hydroxyl groups or light-sensitive substances. Cholesteryl pelargonate has been shown to have biological properties including: 1) Antioxidant activity 2) Interaction with cell membranes 3) Helps maintain healthy blood circulation
