Beschreibung

Cefminox is a cephalosporin antibiotic that is active against both gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria. It is used in the treatment of infectious diseases such as sepsis, urinary tract infections, and pneumonia. Cefminox has been shown to inhibit the growth of microorganisms in vitro by causing cell lysis. This drug binds to penicillin-binding proteins on the bacterial cell wall, inhibiting the production of enzymes required for cell wall biosynthesis, which prevents protein synthesis and eventually leads to cell death. Cefminox has also been found to be effective against resistant microorganisms such as erythromycin-resistant pneumococci or trimethoprim-resistant Enterobacteriaceae.
