Beschreibung

Alpha-chymotrypsin is a proteolytic enzyme that belongs to the peptidase family. It is a serine protease with inhibitory properties against cancer cells and has been shown to be an effective anticancer drug. Alpha-chymotrypsin has also been found in human blood serum, where it is believed to be involved in the regulation of calcium binding. This enzyme is a member of the chymotrypsin family, which includes trypsin and chymotrypsinogen, and it can form covalent linkages with other molecules in its environment. Alpha-chymotrypsin has been used as a model system for studying disulfide bonds, which are key for protein function.
