5-(4-Chlorophenyl)-2H-tetrazole is a dihedral molecule that can be synthesized by reacting hydrochloric acid with diphenyl sulfoxide. Tetrazole has been studied as an antimicrobial agent, and has shown activity against p. aeruginosa. The compound is useful in organic synthesis because it can be used to convert various functional groups into others without the need for harsh conditions or expensive reagents. The thermodynamic properties of 5-(4-Chlorophenyl)-2H-tetrazole were determined using gravimetric analysis in order to understand the stability of the molecule. The molecule was also analyzed using microscopy and found to have a tetrazole ring.
