6-Chloro-1H-indole-2-carboxylic acid methyl ester is a type 1 allosteric modulator that binds to the CB1 cannabinoid receptor. It was found to be an agonist at the CB1 receptor, with an affinity of 1.3 nM and a functional potency of 3.2 nM. 6CICA has been shown to have type 2 binding properties, which may be due to its amide group and orthosteric binding site.
