Beschreibung:4-Cyano-4'-methylbiphenyl is a benzocycloheptene. It is used as an intermediate in the synthesis of other organic compounds and has been shown to be a monocyte chemoattractant. 4-Cyano-4'-methylbiphenyl has been shown to induce chemotaxis in vitro, stimulate adhesion molecules, and increase the production of MCP-1 (monocyte chemoattractant protein) by human monocytes. This compound also stimulates the production of TNFα, IL-1β, IL-6, macrophage inflammatory protein 1α, and macrophage inflammatory protein 2 from human monocytes.
