Cholesterol Valerate is a fatty acid that has been used in the diagnosis of fatty acids. It can be obtained by synthesizing it from cholesterol and valeric anhydride. Cholesterol Valerate has a phase transition temperature of about -5 degrees Celsius, making it liquid at room temperature. This compound has been used as an excipient in pharmaceutical compositions, such as lipid emulsions and topical formulations to increase solubility.
