N-Vanillylnonanamide inhibits neuronal death induced by cytosolic Ca2+, which may be due to its ability to stimulate the translocation of an intracellular transport protein. This drug also has antioxidant properties, being able to scavenge reactive oxygen species. N-Vanillylnonanamide is a natural compound with potential anti-cancer activity, as it induces apoptosis in cancer cells at low concentrations.
