Beschreibung

Curdione is a natural drug that has been used as an anti-inflammatory, anti-cancer, and antimicrobial agent. It is a sesquiterpene lactone that has been isolated from the rhizomes of Curcuma aromatica. Curdione exerts its effects by modulating mitochondrial membrane potential. Curdione also inhibits glucose uptake in vitro and in vivo models. The drug has shown no toxicity in mice at doses of up to 1000 mg/kg body weight (bw). Analysis of the compound using LC-MS/MS method with microdialysis probes revealed that curdione is a mixture of four compounds with molecular weights between 304 and 534 Da.
