• Beschreibung: 1-(2-Chlorophenyl)ethanol is a phenylethanolamine that has been shown to have a number of biological activities. It inhibits the reuptake of dopamine and norepinephrine, thereby increasing the concentration of these neurotransmitters in the synaptic cleft. It also inhibits amine uptake, which may be attributable to its phenyl groups. 1-(2-Chlorophenyl)ethanol has also been shown to act as an antiarrhythmic agent and as an anticonvulsant. This compound has been shown to inhibit hexane growth in Corynebacterium glutamicum and can inhibit corynebacteria at concentrations exceeding 2 mM. 1-(2-Chlorophenyl)ethanol does not show any mutagenic or carcinogenic activities in bacteria or mammalian cells.
