N-Nitrosoguvacine is a genotoxic carcinogen that is used for the treatment of cancer. It is an orally administered drug that is metabolized in the liver to its active form, N-nitrosoureido guanine. N-Nitrosoguvacine has been shown to cause cancer in humans and animals. This agent also causes DNA methylation, which can lead to cell death and tumor development.
