Beschreibung

Dimethyl 4,5-imidazoledicarboxylate is an organic compound that belongs to the group of dicarboxylic acid amides. It is a reaction product of imidazole and styrene. Dimethyl 4,5-imidazoledicarboxylate has been shown to function as a sugar donor in glycosylation reactions with adenosine, forming the adenosine derivative. This compound also reacts with potassium permanganate to form manganese dioxide, which may be oxidized by chloride to form chloramine. Dimethyl 4,5-imidazoledicarboxylate has been shown to react with primary amines to form the trimethylammonium salt. The conformation of this compound is not well understood due to its complexity and lack of characterization studies.
