Beschreibung

Alpha-Damascone is a natural product in the form of a white crystalline solid. It has a molecular weight of 152.19, and chemical formula C14H16O2. Alpha-Damascone is found in the leaves of plants, and it has been shown to have insecticidal properties, as well as being an allergen. The structure activity relationship for alpha-damascone has been investigated using in vitro assays, which showed that this compound was active against chiral substrates. This study also showed that alpha-damascone is not only toxicologically safe but can be used as a starting material for the synthesis of other compounds with more desirable properties.
