Beschreibung:1,1-Dimethyl guanidinium sulfate (DMGS) is a nitro compound that has been used as a surfactant in detergents and cosmetics. DMGS is not cytotoxic to cells in the absence of thioglycolate, but it can enhance the cytotoxicity of thioglycolate by up to 50%. The results of this study have been validated globally and are applicable to animal experiments. A multicentre study was conducted in order to investigate the optical properties of DMGS. The experimental results showed that DMGS absorbs light at wavelengths from 300 nm to 800 nm and has an extinction coefficient between 5×10-4 and 1×10-2 cm/cm/mm.
