Beschreibung

3,5-Dichloro-2-hydroxypyridine is a metabolite of thiophene, which is used as an intermediate in the production of other organic compounds. It is also a byproduct of the metabolism of thiophosphoric acid and hydrochloric acid. 3,5-Dichloro-2-hydroxypyridine has been detected in human urine samples following ingestion of food and water. The metabolic pathway for this compound involves ion exchange and oxidation to form chloride ions. This compound can be metabolized by humans through acidic hydrolysis or nucleophilic substitution with methyl groups from methylated amines or amino acids.
