Beschreibung

Dienestrol is a synthetic nonsteroidal estrogen that is used in the treatment of breast cancer and other disorders. It has been shown to have chemiluminescence activity, which is catalyzed by a peroxidase enzyme. Dienestrol has also been shown to have an inhibitory effect on bacterial growth, as demonstrated by its ability to reduce the number of colony-forming units in vitro. The mechanism of this inhibition is not fully understood, but it may be due to suppression of DNA synthesis or interference with protein synthesis. Dienestrol has been shown to bind strongly to human serum albumin and therefore may be difficult for the body to eliminate. Dienestrol has been found to be carcinogenic in some animal studies and therefore should not be used for prolonged periods of time.
