2-(2,5-Dichlorophenoxy)propanoic acid is a carcinogenic industrial chemical that belongs to the group of chlorophenols. It has been shown to damage DNA and cause cancer in animal models. This compound has been used as an intermediate in the production of other chemicals. 2-(2,5-Dichlorophenoxy)propanoic acid also has mutagenic activity and causes mutations in bacterial cells that are exposed to it.
