• Beschreibung: 4,6-Dihydroxy-5-nitropyrimidine is an inhibitor of the detoxification enzymes that have unpaired electrons. It has been shown to inhibit cytochrome P450 and glutathione reductase. 4,6-Dihydroxy-5-nitropyrimidine also inhibits rat liver microsomes and formamidase, which are involved in the synthesis of picolinic acid. This drug also has a synergistic effect with ethyl orthoformate or malonate. 4,6-Dihydroxy-5-nitropyrimidine is able to inhibit haemonchus contortus worms (H. contortus) when administered in combination with phenolphthalein or picolinic acid.
