3,5-Dimethyl-1H-pyrazol-4-amine is a luminescent compound that can be applied to the skin. It has been shown to have dermal uptake and can be used for the treatment of tuberculosis. The compound is postsynthetic and amide, with an imine as a reactive intermediate. 3,5-Dimethyl-1H-pyrazol-4-amine reacts with Zn2+ ions and nitrite to produce nitrosamines (mutagenicity). The reaction time is three minutes, which can be shortened by adding a base (cleavage products).
