Beschreibung:
2,2-Dimethyl-1,3-dinitropropane is a skeleton that has been shown to react as a carbanion. It is an intermediate in the reaction mechanism of cyclopenta[b]pyridines with amines. The tautomeric form of this skeleton is 2,2-dimethyl-1,3-diazirine. This skeleton also catalyses the nitroalkane to nitrite ion reaction and stabilizes the synthons involved in the synthesis of cyclopentane rings.
