Diprop-2-ynylamine is a cross-linking agent that has been used in the synthesis of unsaturated alkyl and alkynyl compounds. Activated propargylamine reacts with propargylamine to form an activated intermediate, which is then oxidized to form a carbonyl group. This carbonyl group can be used for the cross-linking of other molecules. Diprop-2-ynylamine is also neuroprotective and has optical properties that make it useful as a chemical intermediate. The molecular formula for this compound is C8H9N, and it has a molecular weight of 136.24 grams per mole. It has an unsaturated alkyl group and alkynyl groups on either side of its amine functional group, making it a diprop-2-ynylamine molecule.
