Beschreibung

5-Diethylaminopentan-2-ol is a synthetic drug with a hydrophobic and lipophilic structure. It is used in the treatment of infectious diseases, such as malaria, leishmaniasis, and Chagas disease. 5-Diethylaminopentan-2-ol has been found to be effective against malaria parasites that are resistant to other treatments such as chloroquine. This drug also has an analog that has been shown to have antimalarial activity against Leishmania species. 5-Diethylaminopentan-2-ol is not active against bacteria and is predominately used for the treatment of parasitic diseases.
