• Beschreibung: (2,3-Dimethylphenyl)methanol (DMPM) is a tetrahydrofuran (THF) derivative. It has been shown to form an alkylating agent with indium or bromine in the presence of heat, which can be used for the on-line preparation of THF derivatives by reaction with 2,3-dimethylphenols. This process has been shown to produce synergistic effects and is able to produce high yields of THF derivatives. DMPM can also be used as a setup reagent for size-exclusion chromatography by reacting with phosphoric acid, xylene, and pimpinellifolium (PPF), which can be used as a stationary phase. The DMPM-PPF mixture is stable at room temperature and shows good separation properties.
