Beschreibung:
4,5-Diaminopyrimidine is a purine derivative. It is an anticancer compound that inhibits cell growth and induces apoptosis in cancer cells. 4,5-Diaminopyrimidine binds to DNA and inhibits the biosynthesis of nucleic acids by inhibiting ribulose monophosphate (RuMP) carboxylase. This inhibition leads to decreased production of nucleotides and nucleic acid precursors, which in turn reduces DNA synthesis and protein synthesis. 4,5-Diaminopyrimidine has shown antitumor activity against skin cancer cells. The molecule also inhibits the enzyme dephosphorylation, which may be responsible for its anticancer activity.
