Beschreibung

Dicyclopentadienediepoxide is an epoxy that reacts with metals. It has been used in analytical methods for the determination of metal hydroxides and long-term toxicity tests. Dicyclopentadiene is a reactive, fatty acid that can be converted to dicyclopentadienediepoxide by anhydrous sodium and water vapor. Dicyclopentadienediepoxide has been synthesized using ester linkages and reacted with hydroxyl groups from fatty acids or alcohols. Dicyclopentadienediepoxide is thermally stable and reacts with water vapor to form hydrocarbons, alcohols, and ketones.
