These salts can then be reacted with coupling agents such as diazotized benzene, diazotized aniline, or diazotized phenylamine. Diazonium salts are also formed when 3,4-dinitrobenzophenone reacts with diazonium salts such as sodium nitrite and potassium thiocyanate in water. These reactions lead to the formation of transition metal complexes such as nickel carbonyl and palladium acetate.
