Beschreibung:
3,5-Dimethylcyclohexanol is a mixture of cis and trans isomers. It is a colorless liquid with the smell of bananas that can be synthesized from cyclohexene by reduction with lithium aluminum hydride. 3,5-Dimethylcyclohexanol has been used in techniques such as physico-chemical analysis, spectrometry and chromatography to study its properties. It can also be analysed using techniques such as high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) or nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR). The biosynthesis pathways for 3,5-dimethylcyclohexanol are not yet known but it is thought to be produced from hexane by the reduction of carbonyl groups.
