Diflorasone diacetate is a synthetic corticosteroid used to treat inflammatory skin diseases. It is chemically stable and has been shown in vitro to inhibit the growth of cancer cells. Diflorasone diacetate has also been shown to have an anti-inflammatory effect that may be due to its ability to inhibit the production of prostaglandins, which are hormones that cause inflammation. Diflorasone diacetate has also been shown to reduce the development of erythema (redness) in mice with skin inflammation. Clinical trials have demonstrated that diflorasone diacetate is effective for treating inflammatory skin disorders such as atopic dermatitis and psoriasis.
