2,2'-Dithiobis(pyridine-N-oxide) - 80% is a dithiobis(pyridine-N-oxide) that exhibits antimicrobial activity. It has been shown to be active against a wide range of bacteria including Staphylococcus aureus, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and Salmonella enterica. It has also been shown to inhibit the growth of various fungi such as Aspergillus niger and Candida albicans. 2,2'-Dithiobis(pyridine-N-oxide) - 80% exhibits no activity against gram negative bacteria such as Escherichia coli. The molecule has been shown to exhibit antimicrobial activity in vitro assays against a number of model organisms including E. coli, S. typhimurium, C. elegans, P. aeruginosa, A. niger and C. albicans with
