Beschreibung

Destomycin A is a polymerase chain inhibitor that targets the enzyme DNA polymerase. It has been shown to inhibit the growth of bacteria, fungi, and protozoa in vitro assays. Destomycin A is active against many Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria as well as some mycobacteria. The antimicrobial activity of destomycin A is not affected by the presence of other antimicrobials such as ciprofloxacin, erythromycin, ampicillin, or trimethoprim/sulfamethoxazole. Destomycin A may be used for the treatment of infectious diseases caused by bacterial infections. This drug can be used in combination with other antibiotics to increase their potency and minimize resistance development. Destomycin A is also useful for sample preparation prior to analysis by mass spectrometry because it causes minimal matrix effects or interferences with mass spectral measurements.
