Beschreibung

Dioleoylglycerol is a fatty acid that is an important component of the phospholipid bilayer of cells. Dioleoylglycerol has been shown to inhibit hepatic lipase, an enzyme involved in lipid metabolism. This inhibition may play a role in the development and progression of infectious diseases, such as malaria. Dioleoylglycerol is also known to form disulfide bonds with proteins. It can be used as a substrate molecule for biochemical studies and has been shown to have basic protein-like properties. The enzyme activity of diacylglycerol lipase (DAGL) is inhibited by dioleoylglycerol and this inhibition has been shown to affect the structural biology of adipose tissue in mice.
