Beschreibung

5,5-Dimethoxy-1,2,3,4-tetrachlorocyclopentadiene is a nucleophilic compound that reacts with an electrophile to form a new carbon-carbon bond. The deuterium atom in this molecule has been shown to be important for its reactivity by increasing the acidity of the hydrolysis reaction. 5,5-Dimethoxy-1,2,3,4-tetrachlorocyclopentadiene has been shown to react with ammonium nitrate in an acidic hydrolysis reaction and with hydroxide solution to form chloroform and hydrogen chloride respectively.
