It also reacts with sodium dodecyl sulfate to form an odorant binding, which is selective for ethylbenzene over other aromatic compounds. 1-Dodecene has been shown to reduce viscosity and hydroformylate metal chelates. The reaction solution will contain catalyst such as nickel or palladium.
