Beschreibung

2,4-Diaminophenoxyethanol hydrochloride (2,4-DAP) is a cross-linking agent that has been used for the preparation of emulsions. 2,4-DAP is also used as a binder in the production of paper and textiles. It is an adsorption agent for the removal of fatty acids from wastewater. 2,4-DAP binds to fatty acids by forming ester bonds with carboxyl groups on the fatty acid molecule. This binding prevents the penetration of these substances into water. 2,4-DAP may also be used as a primary site in weight reduction preparations. The addition of this substance can reduce the amount of other binders or plasticizers needed in order to achieve desired properties in a formulation.
