Beschreibung

N,N-Dimethyloctan-1-amine oxide is an antimicrobial agent that has been used as a corrosion inhibitor and as a cross linking agent. It can be used in detergent compositions to provide enhanced cleaning performance, such as removal of fatty acids from water vapor. N,N-Dimethyloctan-1-amine oxide has been shown to be effective against Gram positive bacteria and some Gram negative bacteria. The mechanism of action for this compound is not clear, but it may involve adsorption on the metal surface or its interaction with amines.
