• Beschreibung: Triamcinolone is a corticosteroid that is used to treat inflammatory conditions such as asthma, rheumatoid arthritis and ulcerative colitis. It is also used for the treatment of certain skin disorders. Triamcinolone binds to the glucocorticoid receptor, which then enters the cell nucleus and binds to specific DNA sequences, inhibiting transcription and protein synthesis. Triamcinolone can also inhibit replication of viruses that are members of the Hantavirus family by binding to their nucleotide sequence in the host cell nucleus. This drug has been found to be effective against animal hantaviruses such as Apodemus agrarius but not human hantaviruses such as Sin Nombre virus.
