Beschreibung

Desoxymycin is a macrolide antibiotic that has been shown to have anticancer activity against human cells. It binds to the protein targets of cancer cells and inhibits the production of proteins that are vital for cell division. Desoxymycin has also been shown to be effective in treating hepatitis and reducing levels of formyl-methionine in the blood. This drug is biodegradable, which is advantageous for patients with liver or kidney failure who cannot eliminate drugs from their bodies. Desoxymycin can be conjugated with other molecules, such as erythromycin, to make them more stable and effective. The drug has shown antiviral activity against herpes simplex virus type 1 (HSV-1). Desoxymycin has been shown to inhibit the replication of this virus by binding to viral RNA polymerase and preventing transcription.
