Beschreibung

N-Demethyl olanzapine is a metabolite of olanzapine. It is primarily formed by the demethylation of olanzapine and its concentration in plasma can be used as an indicator of olanzapine use. N-Demethyl olanzapine has been shown to cause hepatic steatosis, which may affect the analytical method for determining this drug in human serum. This drug also has a number of side effects that are related to its pharmacokinetic properties, including interaction with other drugs, such as antipsychotics and antidepressants. The concentration–time curve for N-demethyl olanzapine can be measured using an electrochemical detector.
