Deacetyl bisacodyl is a drug that can be used to treat constipation. It is an osmotic laxative that works by drawing water into the intestine and increasing fluid volume in the bowel, thereby softening the stool. It has been shown that this drug is taken up by particles and not dissolved in water or absorbed through the intestinal wall.
