Beschreibung:O-Desmethyl Carvedilol is a metabolite of Carvedilol, which is an effective oral anti-hypertensive agent. O-Desmethyl Carvedilol is a potent inhibitor of the hepatic cytochrome P450 system and inhibits the activity of human liver microsomes at concentrations of 10 μM. The LC-MS/MS method for measuring O-Desmethyl Carvedilol in urine samples has been validated and found to be accurate and precise. Clinical studies have shown that carvedilol has a profile of lipid lowering, vasodilation, and anti-ischaemic effects with relatively few side effects. Studies have also shown that carvedilol is metabolized by the liver into active metabolites such as O-desmethyl carvadiol (ODC).
